Event Details

The UAA College of Engineering and Anchorage Public Libraries are partnering up to offer Explore Engineering for middle school students.

Over the course of three sessions, students in 6th-8th grade can gain a deeper understanding of different engineering fields, all while participating in fun, hands-on activities. Each session is held on a Saturday from noon to 3:00 pm and located at the Z.J. Loussac Library. Walk-ups will only be permitted if we do not reach capacity through the sign-up form, so we highly recommend signing up in advance.

May 21, 12pm
Dr. Matt Cullin, UAA Professor of Mechanical Engineering, will give an overview of how engines work. Participants will then build an engine out of paper and ping pong balls.
