Community led programs allow the community to use library space, without needing staff involvement.

Community led programs receive library space, but no staff support. Programs using this space must adhere to the Anchorage Public Library’s code of conduct. Programs must be free and open to the public. The space may not be used for any for-profit activities.

Groups may market the program, but they may not use the Anchorage Public Library logo or use any statements that suggest that the library is sponsoring this program. Groups are responsible for set up, clean up, and any room damage.

Community led programs can be booked up to 30 days in advance through the Adult Services Coordinator or their designated representative. Community led programs may not be booked the day of the program.

Community led programs receive:

  • A free space
  • Tables and chairs
  • Electrical power

Community led programs do not receive:

  • Staff support
  • Technology support
  • Library marketing
  • Printing
  • Room set up/clean up

Community led programs are not required to share program evaluations with library staff. Community led programs are required to share participation numbers with library staff.
