Most people with thoughts of suicide don't truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers can recognize these invitations and take action by connecting them with life-saving mental health support.
safeTALK is a 3.5 hour alertness workshop that prepares anyone, regardless of experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. You will learn how to notice and respond to situations where thoughts of suicide may be present, provide practical help, and act quickly to connect the person with someone trained in suicide intervention
If you are currently distressed or have been recently affected or bereaved by suicide, we recommend you delay participating until those experiences have settled.
