Bring your wiggliest toddlers for an active storytime! We'll get up and go but we'll also sneak in some books. Best for ages 18 months to 3 years; all families welcome.

We have computer guided basis computer competency course to help you understand and use computers and other technology. Also come in and get help with software issues like email, Office, etc. or get hardware help with your laptop or phone.

Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library and we will introduce it to all the other beloved stuffed animals of the Girdwood community!

Get creative and make a work of art! We'll have a variety of art supplies to make whatever you want.

Explore the library before we're officially open, then enjoy a storytime ideal for ages 3-5 with caregiver. Cal 907-343-4032 for entry as early as 10:00 AM; stories begin at 10:30 AM. All families welcome.

A half hour of stories, songs and movement that build early literacy skills and prepare your preschooler ages three to five for Kindergarten. Followed by a play time featuring special literacy toys and games.

30 minutes of stories, songs, and rhymes followed by free play or an activity. Ideal for ages 3-5 with caregiver, but all families are welcome. 

Twenty minutes of nursery rhymes, songs, fingerplays and action for infants, birth to 18 months, and their caregivers. Followed by a special baby playtime.

KID CRAFT MASTERS

Time especially for seniors to get one-on-one help with technology, community resource navigation, and traditional library reference. 

Do you knit, crochet or sew or are you a beginner looking for a start? We will have lessons for beginning knitters with long-time beloved resident Cleary Donovan.

Read to Whiskers! Reading sessions are 10-15 minutes long and are scheduled on a first come basis. Sign-up will open at 2:30 pm with the last session starting at 3:15 pm.

Finish your project in a sociable environment. All ages, all projects welcome. We'd love to see what you are working on. 

No registration needed, just show up. We may ask you to dust, clean, shelve, or assist with program preparation.

Join local author Lynn Lovegreen for a drop-in Writing Workshop in the Teen Underground. Get assistance writing short stories, poems, and more to submit for our Teen Zine.

Kids in grades K-4 take turns reading to a patient, nonjudgmental, Red Cross-certified therapy dog. Appointments are 15 minutes and signup is first-come first serve and begins at 3:30 PM.
